* about me *
At this time I started guitar lessons at the Holy Ghost Parish Centre
under the guidance of Dave Morton & within a year we had a group. The
Junior Musical Express. Along with John Cahill, Jim O'Leary, Danny
Considine & Jez O'Callaghan i think we did 3 gigs & 1 talent
competition (we came 3rd) Not long afterwards I was asked (or rather
my mum was asked) if I could stand in for a local semi - pro outfit
called Mary & the Nightingales...............Very much a family band it was
fronted by Mary Pender who had appeared on TV in Junior Showtime &
was a classically trained singer. Also in the band at various times over
the years were her sisters, her boyfriend, their boyfriends etc, I'm sure
you get the picture ? (Mick her Dad was the manager/driver) Although
the name did eventually change to Spectrum I stayed for nearly 10
years before heading down the professional road. (my replacement
was David Arnold now of 007 James Bond fame)
That kind of takes us up to the photo gallery.
As more photos become available I'll fill in the blanks with other bits &
pieces that have happened to me over the years. Whether you find this
interesting or not time will tell, but for me it's kind of theraputic
remembering lots of good people & things that have influenced my life
so far.
